Pooh wisdom

If you live to be a hundred, I want to live to be a hundred minus one day so I would never have to live without you."

Where did the weekend go and Big Things part deux

So I've had a pretty eventful weekend, besides fighting off allergies I received most excellent news on Friday. It looks like my career is taking a turn for new horizons and I'm extremely excited! This summer is going to be an interesting change & transition and I welcome the chance to grow and learn and be a part of something BIG. I'm just proud that all my hard work has paid off and that I am paving my way slowly but surely. I am so incredibly grateful for this opportunity and it looks like Summer is going to be filled with lotsa new experiences :) HOORAY!

The weekend highlights included:
  • The best and probably most expensive meal I've had in my life at Masa - despite the ridiculous price a must-try in my opinion!!!
  • Trekking the city with J & his dad
  • Clover made coffee @ Cafe Grumpy
  • Finally watching Bolt on Netflix
  • Dinner & Jazz in Times Square
  • Sleeping in on Sunday
I hope your weekend was as exciting as mine. Now, I just need the time to do my HUGE load of laundry, clean my apartment, do a Fresh Direct order and settle in to some me-time.

Big Things and where did the weekend go?

I spent the weekend recuperating from my big day in Columbus, Ohio. It was mentally exhausting but exciting at the same time. If all goes well, there might be some changes in my career so I'm being patient and keeping my fingers crossed, my mind open and placing my faith in the only One who knows how my path should lead.

I met some cool kids during this 1 day of Assessment and back to back interviews and case prep. Met interesting assessors and got to fly on the company plane for the second time :) But being on the same plane as your assessor can be an awkward thing!

But I got home on Friday night exhausted - still in my suit and dragging my luggage, I plopped myself into J's arms and couch and proceeded to veg the night the way with Korean Fried Chicken and our Netflix movie, Up in the Air. I was in bed by midnight on a Friday night :P

The rest of the weekend consisted of lots of sleep, battling allergies and some well-needed R&R. Hope you're weekend was a relaxing one... :)

PS: I forgot to mention the AWESOME deal J and I scored at the Rock & Republic Sample sale - buy 3 jeans and get 1 free? YES PLEASE! We basically walked out with 4 pairs of jeans for the price of one - not sure if its due to the Chapter 11 they filed last week but who cares?! Those jeans make us look goooood!

Where did the weekend go?

It went to Brooklyn where Girl's Game Night was a BLAST! Too much wine and a zillion rounds of Cranium make us girls happy campers! Let's do it again girls!

It went to cashing in J's 20% off entire purchase coupon for Bed Bath & Beyond and frolicking the aisles of the home section in TJ Maxx.

It went to my very own Mr. Handyman can - installing hat hooks for my pretty hats in my bedroom.

It went to finally watching the award winning The Hurt Locker on Netflix and cooking a late night dinner.

It went to doing what many New Yorkers do on Sundays - Open Houses and trawling street fairs in Gramercy/Union Square.

It went to Shabu Shabu FEAST with friends & ending the night with kisses infront of my building.

How was your weekend? :)

Bottled Water

Disclaimer: I was not paid to do this review. I just like a very cool product/concept when I see it :D Cheers!

So I'm a big fan of water...:P I try to drink about 2 liters of water a day. Supposedly, to determine how much water you need in a day - you can take your weight in pounds and divide it by 2 - that number is how much water you should be consuming in a day in ounces. For those of you who are on the Metric system like me, you take your weight in kilos and divide by 30 to get the recommended daily amount of water in liters.
I've been drinking out of a Sigg water bottle or buying the occasional Smart Water - but today at a staff meeting, I noticed one of my coworkers rocking a cute water bottle with a filter in it. I inquired and found out about Waterbobble. It's an ingenious idea! Make any water you drink - filtered water! It's basically a portable Brita and packed in a cute design too. Apparently the designer, designed Method's bottles. It's perfect for work or the gym or even at home if you don't have Brita filter. The filter needs to be changed every 2 months or 150 liters and it doesn't cost an arm or a leg! $9.95 for a bottle and filter and $6.95 for additional filters which come in awesome colors! It's a simple concept but it's helping us take the next step in reducing the number of bottles we purchase, being green while looking very cool at the same time. I'm gonna get me & my man one soon! :)

Where did the weekend go?

This weekend was filled with:
  • Out of town Easter visitors
  • Brunches, lunches, drinks & dinners
  • Trips to MPD & LES
  • The discovery of Park Slope, BK
  • Homemade quiche (thanks to the fabulous Simone & her Etsy-ish brownstone apartment!)
  • A need to get a weekend from my weekend
I hope yours was just as lovely as the weather was here in NYC.
